In 2018, my friend Thomas and I were interested in building a farming app for the farm we had lived on. We’d looked at multiple different farming apps available at the time and they all had a couple different sections, but to fully get what we wanted we would have had to use multiple apps and pay hundreds of dollars per year. We decided we could build our own app with the help of an investor. So I got to work and found one.
We only had $30,000 to build this app and I found a company in India who was willing to do it. It was rough going at first with communication, but eventually the app started to come together. After about 8 months of working on the app, the money in the account was dried up. We had launched on the App Store and Google Play and had multiple people interested, but the app wasn’t finished to get beyond beta.

What I’d love to do with the majority of the revenue from this app is help hard working people all across the U.S. If someone’s son emailed us that their barn had burned down in an accidental fire, and they needed help to rebuild, having the opportunity to help them is exactly what I’d want to be in a position to do. If someone’s daughter emailed us that her dad is getting older and needs a four wheeler to get around the farm, I would love to be able to show up with a brand new four wheeler and give him the keys.
Getting this app finished and being able to do some good in the world is what I would love to do with the rest of my life.
